Los Barangay
Following two successful showcases, first in New York City, then in Manila, Barangay Bois brought their third event, “LOS BARANGAY” to Los Angeles. Held at COMUNITY, in Downtown Los Angeles, the event welcomed everyone to network and celebrate art and community.
The Barangay Bois, are a group of friends who aims to bring different artists from communities together. Their art exhibits provides a way of welcoming others into “their Neighbourhood”.
The showcase displayed work by the Barangay Bois, as well as features by other talented artists and friends of the team, including Boat+Bridge co-founder, Jonnelle Monzon.
Barangay Bois collaborated with streetwear label, Steady to produce a customizable shirt and key float accessory for the event. At the pop-up booth, people were encouraged to interpret how they “STAY ON TOP” by signing their shirts or tagging up the walls.
The event also featured live music by local rising artists, Jenna Suhl, Yohan Jung and Late Lee, as well dance performances by Chase Lihilihi, CC Lihilihi and Jantzen Julian.
With a successful turnout, the venue was packed with artists, influencers, dancers and friends, from different cities, all enjoying the night together, in the same neighborhood.
